Album Of The Month March 2015 – Vote Now

We have some extraordinary nominations for “Album Of The Month March 2015”. They come from The Ska Banton (Indonesia), Boss Capone (Netherlands), Strike (Italy), The Skints (England), Ed Rome (England), Dr. Ring Ding Ska-Vaganza (Germany, Spain), The Targarians (Spain)

The Ska Banton are one of the numerous upcoming Ska acts from Indonesia. Their debut album “The Master Of Situation”, bursting with Original Ska, hasn’t hit Amazon, bandcamp or itunes yet. But you can find some of their songs and videos on the band’s reverbnation page.

Boss Capone is the home recording project by Boss Van Trigt who is also well-known as part of the Early Reggae band The Upsessions. The second album  “69 Reggae Bonanza” (Grover Records) has been reviewed by Reggae Steady Ska. Read more about it here.

In February, Strike from Italy were nominated for “Video Of The Month”. March brought their album “Havana Kingston Ferrara New York” (Soulove Records). Top band from Italy with a very original style.

The Skints are heavily touring Europe these days to present their brand-new album “FM” out on Easy Star Records. Also check our album review.

On “Snapshot: Dubs & Subs”, Ed Rome reworked tracks from his fabulous album “Snapshot” (Slam Door). Rhoda Dakar, Dennis Alcapone, Neville Staple, Freddie Notes and Dr. Ring Ding are among the guests on the new album. Another top release.

For some years, German trombonist, singer and DJ Dr. Ring Ding, has been focussing on his Reggae projects. With the formation of his international band Ska-Vaganza in 2013, these years were over. “Bingo Bongo” (Pork Pie Records) is the second album from Dr. Ring Ding Ska-Vaganza and full of Original Ska quality.

Following the release of their self-named EP from last summer, The Targarians from Spain come back with a full-length album called “Temps d’il·lusió”. Friendly sing-a-long tunes with a sound reminding of Ska in the 1980s.
