Must-See Videos 2017: The Big Takeover – Love Understands

One of the bands that always come with a cool new video and a fresh sound are The Big Takeover from New Paltz, New York state.

“Love Understands” has Jamaica-born singer NeeNee Rushie and her band mates having fun in a blue box, showing a heap of different backgrounds. The pictures are all very colourful, corresponding to the driving, uplifting music if not to the lyrics on a word-by-word basis.

The Big Takeover are clearly favorites of Reggae Steady Ska. They won our Video Of The Month competition in January 2015, with “Dolphins.” Unfortunately, we don’t do the competition at the moment. But what we still have is a playlist with all the new Reggae Steady Ska clips that we see on the Internet.

Here are the liner notes to “Love Understands” by The Big Takeover:

Directed by Crazy Gringo – Liz Paradise and Zach Thomson
DP – Zach Thomson and Matt Conde

Featuring: NeeNee Rushie, Chas Montrose, Rob Kissner, Andy Vogt, Kerry Shaw
