Tony Brevett Of The Melodians Dead

Tony Brevett of the Melodians

On 25 October 2013 Tony Brevett died from cancer after being admitted to hospital in Miami in August.

If you like to remember him by reading articles about this great singer like this short piece in the Jamaica Observer (with statements of the only surviving Melodian Trevor McNaughton), here’s the right soundtrack for you.

I just put together a playlist on youtube with tunes like: “Bless The Sunshine”,  “Starlight” , “Come On Little Girl”, “Don’t Get Weary”, “Don’t Give Up”, “Just Been Feeling Bad”, “You Took Me By Surprise”, “Staircase Of Time”, “Sweet Sensation”, “Lay It On”, “I Will Get Along Without You” & “You Don’t Need Me”.

Tony Brevett will be welcome in heaven by his uncle Lloyd Brevett of The Skatalites and many Rocksteady and Ska greats.
