Christmas Wishlist for Ska People 2017

An update on our Christmas wishlist from 2012 is long overdue, don’t you think? Have a look at the things that we found and add more in the comments if you like.

Shops

Browse around these shop websites and you will sure find inspiration for Christmas presents and beyond.

Books

Lots of good books centred around Ska, Reggae and adjacent stuff have been released in the last months and years. Here is just a short  selection, books by Suggs, by Nick Welsh, books about Alpha Boys school, a thrilling novel about the attack on Bob Marley, the story of Stax Records and the beautiful graphic novel “Fahrradmod” by our friend Tobi Dahmen (available as of now in German, Serb and the Dutch language, hopefully soon in English, too). Click on the links to get to the shops.

Fun stuff

These pvc figures by Merc London just look good. I would love to have them at home and wouldn’t be surprised if you like them, too. Expensive on ebay, much cheaper if you get them directly from Merc.

Practical stuff

Now that’s what I call a classic. This 2Tone designed seat looks as good in the living room as in your party cellar.

If you are just looking for some recent records to get as presents, have a look at the Top 20 list compiled by Kevin Flowerdew of Do The Dog records.

Got any additions to our wishlist? Share them in the comments or on our Facebook page.
