Album Of The Year 2019 – Jury Voting Results

Georg v. Ungern-Sternberg

writer at Irieites, and DJ Dr. Till for Red Baron Soundsystem

  1. Los Placebos- Rocksteady Rollercoaster. I feel an old connection to the placebos, but that’s not the reason to choose this album, it’s their staying true to playing 90s ska. I grew up with it and it is still a gift for me to have this music.
  2. Los Apartamentos- Water the Garden. It’s cool that someone’s doing that. Mento from Germany! I’m a fan.
  3. Babylove and the van Dangos – Golden Cage und Masons Arms-Von vorn. I can’t decide and I don’t feel like doing it. Both are completely different styles, but what they have in common is that they just do their thing. Masons Arms is also very close to me because it’s actually reggae with punk attitude.
